Recruiter Apprentice & Shift Bookings Coordinator

Brief Description

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an organised, confident and proactive Apprentice Recruiter & Shift Bookings Coordinator to join our team. This is a varied role combining recruitment, candidate management and shift coordination alongside completing a relevant apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths and English 4 or above (or equivalent)

Personal Qualities

On-Call
You will participate in our on-call rota on a 2 days on / 10 days off basis.
On-call consists of answering out-of-hours calls relating to urgent staffing matters. This will mainly involve responding when an agency worker calls in sick or is unable to attend a booked shift.
You will be responsible for contacting available agency workers and trying to arrange suitable replacement cover, while keeping the client updated and ensuring the situation is managed professionally.

• Keen to learn and develop through an apprenticeship
• Comfortable visiting children’s residential homes and meeting clients face-to-face

Vacancy Detail

Your responsibilities will include:
• Recruiting Support Workers, Team Leaders and other residential childcare professionals
• Advertising vacancies and proactively sourcing suitable candidates
• Screening applications and conducting initial interviews
• Completing safer recruitment and compliance checks
• Obtaining references and ensuring candidate files meet our compliance standards
• Coordinating onboarding and training for new workers
• Building strong relationships with our existing agency workers
• Managing staff availability and keeping our systems up to date
• Receiving and processing shift bookings from clients
• Allocating suitable staff to shifts
• Proactively working to fill outstanding bookings
• Dealing with cancellations, sickness and last-minute changes
• Communicating regularly with clients and keeping them updated on outstanding bookings
• Visiting client children’s homes to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Supporting our 24/7 service through participation in the on-call rota
• Answering urgent out-of-hours staffing calls during allocated on-call days
• Managing out-of-hours sickness and last-minute cancellations
• Contacting available agency workers and proactively trying to arrange replacement cover
• Keeping clients updated where an out-of-hours staffing issue arises
• Identifying strong temporary workers who may be suitable for permanent opportunities with our clients

• Completing your apprenticeship qualification alongside your role
